Why This Show Matters

Young Americans is an American comedy-drama television series.

The series was created by John Black and chronicles the political career of Evan Richards, the youngest congressman ever elected to Congress, and his childhood friends from Richmond, Virginia, as they navigate the unfamiliar confines of the political drama in Washington DC.

For too long, millennials have been portrayed in the media as clueless, unmotivated and entitled.

Young Americans seeks to dispell those perceptions and, through the eyes of Evan Richards (Jordan Padgett), Evan's best friend Jaybird (Jorge Silva), his campaign manager William Jeffries (Jacob Dickey), and his most trusted confidant, Jonathan Apple (Lance Lemon), show that twentysomethings can—and will—make a difference.
